Review of BIM World Munich 2025

BIM World Munich 2025 at the ICM – International Congress Center of Messe München is behind us. Over two days, planners, building owners, operators and service providers met at stand 49 – and we look back on an intensive and genuinely inspiring exchange. With thousands of trade visitors, BIM World is one of the leading events for digital transformation in construction, real estate and facility management.

From the BIM model to an operational digital twin

One topic was clearly at the center for us – and it was exactly what occupied the industry most in 2025: using BIM data not only in planning and construction, but carrying it over into operation without loss. This is where digitalization still loses momentum far too often today. After handover, operators and facility management teams in many places start all over again with capturing and structuring information.

At the stand we showed how the KENEXOS® platform dissolves this break: the BIM model becomes an operational digital twin that seamlessly connects project control, plan management and construction documentation with later operation – “Build. Operate. One platform.”

New VITRICON® modules for buildings, FM and energy

For the first time prominently at BIM World, we presented the newly integrated VITRICON® modules for building and facility management as well as the newly added energy management. It was precisely the interplay of BIM, operation and energy that struck a chord in many conversations – not least because the German Building Energy Act (GEG) is making structured energy management increasingly relevant for municipalities and operators.

The topics in particular demand included:

  • the end-to-end use of BIM data across the entire lifecycle
  • the digital twin as a shared data basis for construction and operation
  • plan management, construction documentation and project control in one platform
  • the new VITRICON® modules for facility and energy management
  • energy transparency and operator responsibility as GEG drivers

Good conversations – and a clear trend

What pleased us most was the openness of the conversations: they were rarely about individual tools, but about how the isolated solutions between planning, construction and operation can finally be overcome. The desire for a continuous data basis across the entire lifecycle was clearly noticeable on both days.

We would like to thank all visitors at stand 49 for the valuable exchange and the many concrete points of contact. We will gladly continue the conversations we started – and look forward to showing together how BIM data creates real added value in operation.
